CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF SILENTSYSTEM HEADPHONES
Correct cleaning and maintenance of Silentsystem headphones helps keep their audio quality, comfort, hygiene and reliability over time.
Headphones used at events, fitness classes, silent discos, conferences and installations often come into contact with skin, hair and hands. With use, dust, sweat, skin residue and other impurities can build up, especially on the ear cushions, the headband and the controls.
Regular maintenance also helps preserve the headphone components and extend their working life.
WHY MAINTENANCE MATTERS
Insufficient cleaning or incorrect storage can lead to dirt and residue building up on the headphones.
Over time this can affect the hygiene of the device and contribute to wear of some of its parts.
Pay particular attention to the ear cushions, the headband, the buttons and controls, the charging connections and the areas that are hardest to reach.
Regular maintenance keeps the headphones looking good and working well, and makes them last longer.
HOW TO CLEAN THE HEADPHONES
Before cleaning, always switch the headphones off and disconnect them from any charging system.
Gently clean the outer surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth, making sure that no liquid or detergent gets inside the headphones, the connectors or the electronic components.
Pay particular attention to the surfaces in most contact with the user, such as the cushions, headband and controls.
For sanitising, only use products that are compatible with the surfaces and materials of the headphones, applying them to the cloth and not directly to the device.
Do not immerse the headphones in water or other liquids and do not clean them with jets of water.
Before charging or storing them, make sure the headphones are completely dry.
REMOVING AND CLEANING THE CUSHIONS
On models with removable cushions, these can be removed for more thorough cleaning.
To remove a cushion, hold the headphone firmly and use a gentle twisting and pulling movement, without pinching or overstretching the material.
After cleaning, make sure the cushion is completely dry before fitting it back, and check that it is firmly attached to the headphone.
STORAGE
After use and cleaning, store the headphones in a dry, clean and well-ventilated place, avoiding prolonged exposure to humidity, high temperatures, dust or direct sunlight.
Before putting large numbers of headphones into transport cases or charging systems, make sure they are completely dry.
The cases and containers used for transport should also be kept clean, so that already sanitised devices are not contaminated again. This is the same procedure we follow in the Silentsystem technical lab.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
For professional or intensive use, we recommend regularly checking:
- the condition of the cushions and headband;
- connectors and charging systems;
- buttons and selectors;
- battery condition;
- any screws or external components;
- correct audio operation and RF reception.
Worn or damaged components should be replaced before the device is used again.
